Inexplicable Split Screen Problem in HP DV9500t

lease help me in solving this issue. I have a HP dv9500t laptop which had Windows XP installed on it. I upgraded the operating system on the laptop to Windows 7 and after upgrading the operating system, the screen is having a horizontal split with identical images above and below. The graphic card on the laptop is NVIDIA 8600M GS. Is this because of the graphic card? Is my graphics card faulty? If anybody knows how to solve the Inexplicable Split Screen Problem in HPDV9500t then please share some information. Thanks in advance.
