Incompatibility with Windows devices may lead to booting problems in Windows Server 2003

If you are a regular computer user, then you must have faced several instances when you are unable to boot the system. This is a very common scenario that many users face, and there could be several causes for it. The most prevalent reasons behind this could be incompatibility with some hardware devices or conflicts with a third-party application. Resolution:

To repair such issues, you should modify the registry entries for the concerned registries. To modify the registries, you should perform the following steps:

Start the system in Safe Mode.

Click Start | Run.

Enter ‘regedit’ in ‘Run’ box. The Registry Editor window will be displayed.

Navigate to the following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal

Export this key to the following file:

SafeBoot.reg

Navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services

Export this key to the following file:

Services.reg

Edit this file by opening it in Notepad.

In this Notepad file, find all the entries matching to the following registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal

After finding the matching registry keys, replace them with the following registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Save the ‘Services.reg’ file and close the file.

Restart the computer in normal mode.
