Normally people do not know the signs of laptop overheating as they are not technical, so they continue their use. If people become aware of these signs, they can take suitable preventative actions on time. There are some symptoms that show real, and true overheating of laptops. If the laptop’s cooling fans are making noise, and working at maximum speed,   if laptop suddenly gets shutdown without giving any warning after few minutes of operation, if laptop gets shutdown in case you are using a software that is making the processor to work hard (like 3D games), then it is highly probable that the laptop has got an overheating problem.

Reasons of overheating

There are many reasons of hp laptops overheating. Some specifically relate to hp laptops, and some are in general. The research of some technical people suggests that the heating up of HP laptops is due to its motherboard, and some also say that hp spends insufficient amount on the heat sink assembly. Although there are some other reasons of heating up as well, like the temperature may be too high where you are using your laptop, you are using the laptop in a way that is preventing the cooling system to work properly, placing the laptop on carpets or cushions block the cooling system air, batteries do not last forever, so if the battery life is near to its end, then the laptop will heat up, overheating can also cause due to the bios problem.

Tips to avoid overheating

There are many ways through which overheating can be handled, like one can use the latest version of the bios, clean the fans with an air duster to let them work properly, keep the cooling system clean, and  an air duster can be used for this purpose. The most simplest solution is to place the laptop on a laptop tray, remove the case cover to let the motherboard cool down, try to use your laptop in an air conditioned room, clean the metal contacts on the laptop battery, do not use a broken or damaged laptop battery, use the original hp laptop battery in rotation with a replacement battery if you have one. The most recommended method is to use a laptop tray, as most of the laptops overheat due to placing them on carpets, cousins or lap.
