New Gaming Laptop With Core I5 From Msi

MSI has introduced new GE700 laptop for the gaming and multimedia entertainment fanatics. Last month, GE700 was shown as a part of MSI G series gaming laptop lineup at CeBIT 2010 convention. Equipped with Intel s freshly released Core i5 Arrandale family microprocessor, the 17-inch GE700 boasts of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5700 series graphics.

The new GE700 gaming laptop s exterior carries MSI s color film print technology that puts jet black coating blended with silver layered finish in the area around the keyboard. The illuminated keys carrying special marking for W, A, S and D keys in red will add spice to gaming.

Computing power is offered with Intel Core i5 family processor (model number unknown) made from 32nm fabrication process and paired with Intel HM55 Express chipset. One can add up to 4GB of DDR3 1066MHz memory and up to 500GB SATA storage. This notebook comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

The new GE700 laptop has 17.3-inch HD+ TFT LCD display supporting 1600×900 resolution good enough for 720p HD movies playback and playing 3D games.

With exclusive Cinema Pro key, a single touch takes the laptop into movie mode that supports HD movies. To play latest games and watch movies in rich color, GE700 features ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 discrete graphics with 1GB dedicated video memory. MSI boasts of its new GPU Boost Technology through a simple key which when touched puts the GPU in discrete mode when required.

Also, when battery life is a priority, the battery key can be pressed to switch between discrete graphics and integrated graphics. Nvidia Optimus technology promises to offer the same feature. For power management MSI obviously equipped the gaming laptop with ECO Engine Power Saving technology that offers five power managing levels Presentation, Film, Video Game, Word Processing and Turbo Battery.

For high quality audio, MSI has added 2 HD speakers with subwoofer both flaunting SRS Premium Sound technology. Other features include HD webcam, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), 4-in-1 memory stick, LAN port, one eSATA port, D-sub port, four USB 2.0 ports, and of course, an HDMI out port.

No details on the price and battery life performance of this gaming machine have been disclosed. You ll have to wait for the verdict till we get our hands on this one.
