Microsoft Office is an office suite of interrelated desktop applications, servers and services for the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. In the year 1989, Microsoft Office was introduced by Microsoft for Macintosh. In the following year, Microsoft Corporation introduced a version for Windows. Initially a marketing term for a bundled set of applications, the first version of Office contained Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

There are several version of Microsoft Office, one of which is Microsoft Office 2007 or the 2007 Microsoft Office System. This system is a windows version of the Microsoft Office System, Microsoft’s productivity suite. From the previous version of MS Word, Microsoft Word 2007′s document types, interface, and some features have changed. In fact, very nearly every aspect of this word processor have been changed and updated. This version is a more image-conscious application, with its new picture-editing tools and fancy fonts. It is also easier to get a handle on document security, benefiting bloggers and researchers a great deal.

The Ribbon User Interface is a task-oriented Graphical User Interface (GUI). It features a central menu button, widely known as the Office Button. This new interface better presents page view options that used to be a hassle to get to. From the View tab, now you can simply check a box to see a ruler or gridlines, or click the Arrange All button to stack various open Word documents atop each other. But aside from the interface, the other radical change in this version of MS Word is its new file type. For the first time in a decade, Microsoft foists a new file format upon users, and old Word DOC files make way for the new DOCX type of Word 2007.
